Philippe and I started the Halos de Jupiter project with the objective of selecting, aging and blending exceptional Grenache-centric wines from the southern Rhône Valley, while establishing sincere deep relationships with the winegrowers who produced them. We wanted to magnify the quality of their work through discerning blending and elevage.
Over the almost 15 years of this project, the comradery with our partner winegrowers has strengthened. Together we have decided to continue this magnificent adventure, and to honor the memory of Philippe by fostering the same values as always.
Integrity, hedonism, balance, and the unique expression of the terroir that Grenache reveals will always be at the center of this beautiful project.
Thank you Philippe! We will not forget you.
Reflecting the richness and elegance of Halos de Jupiter, its labels communicate visually the hierarchy of the appellations. Jupiter, the poets say, is the king of gods and men. It is also the largest planet of our solar system and the Halo is its closest ring. Châteauneuf du Pape, the leading appellation of the southern Rhone valley is symbolized by the planet Jupiter. Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Côtes du Rhône and Costières de Nîmes are each represented by the one of four moons of Jupiter discovered by Galileo (Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto).
This wide range of expressions provides wine lovers with either immediate pleasure or with library wines! Halos de Jupiter are a great way to discover and understand Grenache and the exceptional diversity of the terroirs of the Southern Rhone Valley.
