Wine Spectator – Rhone Boom

“[The 2015 vintage] is so strong that even as we go into less prestigious areas, there are a bevy of choices for consumers. The Vacqueyras Halos of Jupiter is a prime example.”

93 – Halos de Jupiter Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2015
A rich and heady style, with ganache and Turkish coffee notes leading the way, followed by dark fig and plum fruit that rumbles through, all inlaid with a well-roasted alder detail. Forcefully rendered and delicious. Best from 2020 through 2035. — J.M.

91 – Halos de Jupiter Gigondas 2015
Juicy and forward, with delightful crushed plum and blackberry fruit flavors inlaid with light tar and licorice notes. A flash of iron through the finish adds length and cut. Drink now through 2025.— J.M.

91 – Halos de Jupiter Vacqueyras 2015
Solidly ripe, with a core of kirsch and boysenberry paste flavors that stretches out nicely, while anise, black tea and graphite notes underscore the finish. Drink now through 2022. 550 cases made.— J.M.
